Katherine
E.
Tyson,
Graduate
Student
in
Clinical
Psychology

I am a
third year
graduate
student in the Clinical Psychology doctorate program at the University
of Connecticut, Storrs. My research interests are in autism
spectrum disorders (ASD), comorbid psychopathology in children with
ASD, social skills training models, and phenomenology and treatment of
social anxiety disorder. I am currently working on an NIMH-funded
research project that examines optimal outcomes in children with autism
spectrum
disorders. I will be defending my master's thesis, which examines
the comorbidities in these children compared to typically developing
children and to children with a current diagnosis of ASD, in January
2010.
In
addition to
research, I
enjoy teaching undergraduates as a teaching assistant for Psychology
1103 (general psychology) and doing assessment and clinical work.
My clinical interests are in
assessment of ASD and related disorders, therapeutic techniques for use
in autism spectrum disorders,
cognitive-behavioral therapy, and family therapy. For more
detailed information about my experience, you can
link to my CV at the left-hand side of this page.
