I am an educational technologist and lecturer in history.

I teach 28 workshops a year helping students learn how to use academic information technologies in a pedagogically - responsible way.

Additionally, I teach four college-credit classes a year in United States history, Maritime Studies, and maritime piracy.

My research has focused on the role of religion in the life of seafarers, maritime piracy, and, more recently, the Gaspee Affair.

Currently I am working on a digital humanities initiative here at UConn.
